Silver Bengal Cats
Silver is another very popular color in Bengals which was developed by breeding Bengals to silver American Shorthair cats. Silver can range from the lightest white-gray to dark steel-gray. Silver is dominant to brown. If a silver cat that has two copies of the silver gene (homozygous) is bred to a brown, all the kittens will be silver. If the silver cat has only one copy of the silver gene (heterozygous) there will be silver and brown kitten in the litter. Silver does not show up on the genetic color panel and a cat that is not silver cannot carry the silver gene recessively. Silver can be combined with any other color except brown. A cat may be a silver seal lynx point or even a silver smoke (solid silver).
Silver Bengals usually have green, brown, or gold eyes except in the case of silver snows. Learn even more!
