Our Vision
At Nemera Bengals, our vision is one for the betterment of the Bengal breed. We want to one day see an SBT Bengal that looks nearly indifferent from an Asian Leopard Cat, but we know this cannot be accomplished in one cat, one generation, or even several generations. Until that day comes, we breed with the intention of producing Bengal kittens that come as close as possible to the standard set forth by The International Cat Association (TICA). We know this will take a lot of hard work on our part and much cooperation with other reputable Bengal breeders with a similar vision. We have several close friends that we help and help us. This makes breeding an even MORE enjoyable hobby!
When picking our pairings, we strive to combine type and standard with loving and friendly personalities. We breed for the purpose of bettering the Bengal cat breed and for the joy of living with these beautiful creatures. We breed because Bengals are the most wonderful, loving, fun and exciting cats we have ever met, and we want to help others experience them while maintaining strict health standards.
What we want most is to bring a little touch of the wild into your home, all the while making sure that your Bengal kitten is beautiful, sweet, loving, and gentle. We aim to defeat the misconception that Bengals are horrible pets because they have wild blood. These cats are stunning, smart and lively pets that love their owners intensely. Bengals are often said to be little blessings to their people. Bengals are capable of love and joy, as well as, sorrow. Bengals are an excellent comfort when you are feeling down. Bengals will sleep in your bed and talk to you in their unique meows. Bengals will be your best friend and your cuddle buddy. These are the characteristics we breed for in our Bengal kittens.
Another part of our vision has to do with being the best breeder we can be. It is very important to us to honor contracts and promises to both those Bengal breeders we are privileged to purchase from and those clients who choose Nemera Bengals as the cattery to get their new family member from. We aim to be honest, reputable, kind, and fair. We try to stay away from gossip and name-calling and all the other “catty” business in the cat business. Furthermore, we want to provide the healthiest cats we can by having regular health exams and critical health testing. And most of all, we want our Bengals and their new families to be HAPPY! We will do everything in our power to make that happen.
Perhaps the most significant part of our vision is our promise to all animals that enter our home, Bengal or otherwise. That is to say that, we vow to each animal of any kind that enters our home that they will always have a warm place to sleep, food to eat, and human contact complete with love and cuddling. No matter what a kitten may look or act like, they will always be welcome in our home. There may be a perfect kitten one day, but until then our vision stands to better the breed and love every kitten and cat that graces our home. We will always find the best homes we can for our Bengal kittens, as well as any animal who leaves our home. We always place their best interest FIRST.
