Charcoal is actually considered a pattern to some people. There is not quite as much known about these cats, who appear to wear a dark mask and have a dark cape. Charcoal can come on top of any “base” color (i.e. brown, snow, silver, etc). There is now a genetic test which lets breeders know if a cat is charcoal or if they can produce it.
To get charcoal kittens, one parent or both parents MUST be charcoal or carry wild agouti (Apb). If only one parent carries Apb, the other MUST be or carry melanistic/solid to get charcoals.

Solid Bengals
Solid Bengals have a base coat and pattern nearly exactly the same color.

Cocoa is a solid chocolate marbled Bengal owned by Cranberry Coast Cats.
A solid Bengal is similar to a charcoal Bengal, but a solid colored Bengal have a base color and pattern color that are the same. For instance, with a brown Bengal, they would have black background with black spots. A solid Blue would have a blue background with a blue pattern.
The thing about solids is that their pattern is nearly indistinguishable from their background color except in certain lighting conditions. This is similar to a black panther. Any color can be solid.
